Colombo | Pinnawala | Kandy

Our team representative meets you at the airport and leave Colombo. On the way stop for a while to have a Sri Lankan natural Energy Drink '' King Coconut '' , for sure it will refresh you. Then start the journey & our first stop will be at Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, which is run by the government where around 80 orphaned elephants are looked after. You can bottle-feed a baby elephant and enjoy watching their daily bath in the nearby river. Then we proceed to hill capital, Kandy. In the evening we can visit to see traditional Kandyan dance. Stay overnight in Kandy (25% discount on B.B. rate if you stay in Inora Tourist Guest House/ homestay Peradeniya).Staying with us at Inora & having a chit chat you can share with each other about the cultures, experiences, life styles etc. You can also learn how to make Sri Lankan curries buy adding spices as well in our well-equipped kitchen. Usually our guests love doing this during their stay in our place.

Dalada Maligawa | Kandy city | Ceylon Tea museum or Naththaranpotha | Peradeniya | Gadaladeniya | Lankathilaka & Ambakke

After the breakfast you can visit Dalada Maligawa the '' Temple of the Tooth'' which houses the sacred tooth relic of the Buddha.Here you can observe poojas (offerings), participate in offering flowers & incense and watch ancient traditions of drumming & sacred chanting in honour of the tooth relic being performed several times each day. After visiting the Maligawa we can start the Kandy city tour. First we visit Kandy '' view point '' which is also known as Arthur's seat and provides a panoramic view of Kandy town. Second, we visit Ceylon Tea museum or Naththaranpotha, the craft village. Then we visit the world famous Peradeniya botanical garden where we can have a cup of tea. Finally we visit three ancient temple loop Gadaladeniya, Lankathilaka & Ambakke and back to Inora for overnight stay in Kandy.

Sigiriya | Dambulla

After the breakfast leave the last kingdom and start the journey to reach the first kingdom. On this day our destination is Sigiriya. Along the road you can see paddy fields, coconut groves, spice gardens etc. We stop at one of the best spice gardens and a staff member takes you around & explain about the spices , Sri Lankan Ayurvedic , spice plants , herbs etc. This will be a wonderful experience for you. Then we proceed to Dambulla cave temple. Dambulla is the largest and best preserved complex of Buddhist cave temples in Sri Lanka. It is a vast isolated rock mass where king Walagambahu took refuge in 01st century B.C. The monks there helped the king and he later returned to the power and built this temple as a gratitude to the Buddhist monks. There is also a 14m long recumbent Buddha carved out of the living rock. We stay overnight in Sigiriya.

Sigiriya rock | Polonnaruwa | Anuradhapura

Visit Sigiriya rock fortress, UNESCO world heritage site is commonly known as '' the Lions Rock '' 370m above sea level and it has a complex of buildings, part of royal palace, part of fortified town, and water garden etc. Sigiriya is regarded as the 08th wonder of the ancient world. Then we proceed to Polonnaruwa, the island's medieval capital, the second most ancient city in Sri Lanka wherewe can see lots of ancient ruins. Finally we head to Anuradhapura, the first capital in Sri Lanka.

Jayasrimaha Bodhi | Ruwanveliseya Dagoba | Anuradhapura - Atamasthana

Visit '' Jayasrimaha Bodhi '' the sacred Bodhi Tree is the oldest historically authenticated tree in the world. Then we visit Ruwanveliseya Dagoba & eight great places of veneration in Anuradhapura - Atamasthana. Apart from the great Dagobas & monasteries there are more places to visit. For example, Moonstone, Twin ponds, Royal palace, Royal pleasure gardens, Museums & Huge water tanks. We stay overnight in Anuradhapura.

Mihintale | Meditation rock | snake pool | Dark water pool | Dagoba of the needle | Sinha pokuna | Negombo or Colombo

In the morning visit Mihintale '' Cradle of Buddhism ''. Mihintale is the first historically documented sanctuary in the world. Its history dates back to 247c B.C. when king Devanampiyatissa met Thera Mahinda who was the son of the emperor Asoka of India. Thera Mahinda preached the Buddhist doctrine to the King. In Mihintale there are lots of places to visit such as Aradhana gala ( Meditation rock ) Naga pokuna ( snake pool ) Kaludiyapokuna ( Dark water pool ), Indikatuseya complex ( Dagoba of the needle ) Sinha pokuna are among them. Then we proceed to Negombo or Colombo via Puttalam road. On the way we can have a quick visit to Maravila beach & '' Shrine of the Holy cross '' ( kurusapalliya ).The shrine is indeed an unusual one. It is an open Church in the middle of a cemetery. Maravila beach is very quiet & peaceful. It is a golden sand beach. Our final destination from here is Colombo or Negombo.
